Nuovo Anfiteatro – New Amphitheater
Il Parco Sculture del Chianti dispone da poco di un’anfiscultura. Sarà utilizzabile per ogni tipo di eventi e potrà accogliere fino a ca 250 spettatori. Le quinte sono in marmo bianco di Carrara, delle cave Michelangelo ed in granito nero dello Zimbabwe. Gradoni e palcoscenico sono rivestiti da lastre di lava.
An amphitheater is the latest addition to the Chianti Sculpture Park. It will be used for every type of event and can seat up to 250 spectators. The wings are made of white marble from Carrara, Michelangelo's quarry, and of black granite from Zimbabwe. The steps and stage are covered with a layer of lava.

Nuova opera
Dopo l’inaugurazione del Labirinto nel 2007 il Parco Sculture del Chianti si è arricchito quest’anno di un’ altra opera: The Falling Leaf di Yasmina Heidar.
La scultura si compone di due parti distinte, una forma di vetro stilizzata come una foglia di quercia, che scivola gentilmente su una base di marmo Portoro.
Yasmina Heidar, una giovane artista egiziana che attualmente lavora a Carrara, si aggiunge al gruppo – ben rappresentato – di donne scultrici del Parco, che ora conta più di un terzo di presenze, in un settore storicamente dominato dagli uomini.

Heidar, a young Egyptian currently working in Carrara, joins the expanding cohort of international female sculptors at the Chianti Sculpture Park who now represent over one third of the total collection in an area of practice historically dominated by the male artist.

VISITE INTERESSANTI

Il giorno 23 aprile è venuta in visita al Parco la scuola materna di
Castellina in Chianti; i bambini sono stati educatissimi ed affascinati
dalle sculture nel bosco. Erano divisi in due gruppi (bruchi e coccinelle)
ed accompagnati dalle loro insegnanti.
On April 23 the Park was visited by the kindergarden of Castellina in
Chianti. The children behaved very well and were fascinated by the sculptures in the wood.
They were accompanied by their teachers.
Il 4 maggio invece è venuto un gruppo tedesco di ciechi di Stoccarda,
accompagnati dal loro parroco. E' stata un'esperienza molto particolar
eanche per noi.
On May 4th instead we had a group
of blind persons from Stuttgart.
They were accompanied by their
Priest. It has been a very special experience also for us.

LA FORNACE
Di fronte
all'entrata del Parco si trova La Fornace, una delle gallerie d'arte più grandi d'Italia, specializzata in scultura contemporanea (www.solartgallery.it). La Fornace, bellissima fabbrica di terracotta ristrutturata, presenta artisti internazionali provenienti da Vietnam, Filippine, Bolivia, Cile, Indonesia, Zimbabwe, Malta etc. Alcuni degli artisti del Parco sono anche presenti alla Fornace. Oggi presentiamo Roberto Cipollone che nel Parco ha installato l'opera Chianti. Ecco Roberto al lavoro nel suo laboratorio ed una sua tipica opera "Il Coro".Opposite the entrance to the Park, there is La Fornace, an art gallery among the largest in Italy (www.solartgallery.it). This gallery used to be a pottery which was totally renovated and presents international artists from Vietnam, the Philippines, Bolivia, Chile, Zimbabwe, Indonesia, Malta etc. Some of the artists of the Park show their smaller sculptures at La Fornace. Today we introduce Roberto Cipollone who has Chianti at the Park. You can see him working in his laboratory and one of his typical works "Chorus".
